Your Librarians Ms. Zeina & Ms. Mira are happy to help you.
More than a resource, the Elementary library is an integral part of the educational team developing lifelong readers through book-talks and literary appreciation projects and a center for inquiry and research. The librarian maintains PYP files and planners for every grade and collaborates with teachers to coordinate lessons making the library fully integrated with classroom goals. Ideally, as a resource based center, the library is where inquiry takes place. All library activities use materials and books related to the current PYP planner so students understand why they are working in the library rather than the classroom. The focus is on finding a world of information in books and printed materials with the Internet as another resource to consult. Classes have fixed library periods and the library endeavors to remain flexible to accommodate spontaneous inquiry.
