• Staff vacation allowance is based on the length of service from the date of full time employment.
• Staff may draw upon vacation time after the successful completion of the probationary period (first 3 months). For example, if the date of hire is January 1, then accrued vacation till June 30 is:
Annual Vacation Allowance x 6 /12
• Vacation time is updated on July 1 of every year to be used for the next academic year.
• Unused vacation time cannot be rolled over to the next year.
On the first day of absence, you must notify your Director by telephone of your illness at the very earliest possible. You should keep your Director informed of your situation during periods of absence and give an indication of your likely date of return to allow cover to be arranged.
If you were absent for more than one day, complete a Leave Request Form upon your return from leave and attach a medical certificate. You are required to provide a medical certificate for any absence lasting more than one day.
While you are on a leave of absence without pay, educational benefits for your children will stop and you may apply for financial aid.
