The IB II Economics class visited the Lebanese Central Bank accompanied by their teacher Mrs. Najla Nakhle, who organized the trip and worked on the schedule of the visit with the personnel of the Bank, and Secondary School supervisor Mr. Jihad Toukan. The students attended a seminar on  monetary policy and Lebanon's macro-economy presented by Dr. Youssef El Khalil, head of the Financial Markets Department followed by a meeting with Dr. Saad Andary, Vice Governor and Mr. Mazen Hamdan, Head of the Cash Operations Department--both IC graduates. The students then visited the museum of the Central Bank and attended a presentation by Mr. Raymond Tannous on the currency printing process and specifications that prevent counterfeit. Mrs. Nakhle commented on the visit: “The students were wonderful. They asked so many smart questions; the presenters enjoyed it so much and were impressed by the level of IC students and the maturity of their questions and comments, that they exceeded their time with them!”
