During the past two years, and in accordance with the strategic initiatives set by IC, the International Baccalaureate students attended several boot camps and training sessions conducted by ‘Ahead of the Curve’, a leading social business dedicated to the promotion of sustainable management practice (inclusive market growth and social innovation). During the boot camps, students were exposed to Social Entrepreneurship concepts and techniques including: Building a creative Team, Mind Mapping, Choosing a business idea, Sensing, Business Model Canvas, Introduction to Financial Modeling, Customer Journey, Value Proposition Canvas and Building a prototype.
As a culmination for this whole experience, the IB II students presented their startup ideas/Prototypes that addressed a current social/educational/environmental problem during the 2nd annual pitch night which was held at the G&R Irani Auditorium. The jury panel was composed of: Mr.Yasser Akkaoui, Dr. Bijan Azad, Dr. Teresa Chahine, Mr. Stefano Fallaha, Miss Kim Issa and Dr. Dima Jamali. At the end of the presentations, they awarded the following groups:
1st place winners: Cigarette --Tala Soueid, Cedric Gulumian, Tamara Abdallah, Tammar El Adai, Dalia Barazi and Sam Kebbe
2nd place winners: Ex Aequo Organice -- Anthony Flouti, Beatrice Doumet, Jad Alame, Lara Chehabeddine, Nadine Ayoub and Tarek Bou Nassif And Green Skies-- Arkan Siblani, Aya El Husseini, Karim Itani, Reine Jamali, Sana Mansour and Ziad Hawa
