Ras Beirut, Elementary School engaged in “Reading Week”, from April 24 to 28, across languages and across grade levels. Our library and the patio adjacent to the library were very busy places. Classes gathered for buddy reading, cross-age reading, and just reading for the fun of it. Guest readers even came to join in the joy of reading. Daily announcements from students across grade levels revealed “Reading” secrets throughout the school. The book “Character Parade” was a highlight and secondary student Hadi Bizri recorded it using our drone camera. Every morning began with quiet reading time in the classrooms and throughout the school as relaxing music playing in the background. It was a magical week. So as when it is time to head out to the beach or the mountains, grab a good read and keep the joy of reading alive!
