On January 22, 2016, Preschool parents, came into the room with so many questions about PYP: What is the PYP? Why did IC opt to adopt that programme? How is it benefitting my child? How does my child’s learning qualify as international? Since there is no better answer than the one you reach after experience, parents were working in groups, discussing issues, listening to different perspectives, sharing their knowledge, supporting each other and celebrating their successes; a firsthand experience as to how a PYP classroom functions. An hour and a half later, they all had a deeper understanding of what the PYP is and how it looks like in the class. Some of their comments:
• Now I see how content areas are integrated.
• So that is why my child plays all day long.
• The learning was fun and demanding.
• We were engaged and happy, which reflects why our children run to school.
