Community Service with Grade 11
Posted 12/17/2015 07:49AM

The first community service activity for students in 6th & 1ère is volunteering with the NGO of their choice for 15 hours. For the second one, they have to design Community Service projects for 10 hours. These should aim to help disadvantaged people in Lebanon, such as refugees, poor, disabled, migrant workers, etc.

On October 28 this year (for the first time), students took part in a NGO fair at IC that introduced them to eleven different NGOs thus giving them an insight on the needs of our society. The students chose three NGOs to learn more about. The students were enthusiastic and interacted well with the NGOs advisors.

The community service program has long brought a sense of responsibility and helped students to work independently by giving them the freedom to choose for which NGO they would like to volunteer. It enhances their sense of compassion and promotes an active engagement in the local community.

The NGOs are Ajialouna – Nasma – Bassma – Écoute – IRAP – IMC center – G - Sakker El Dekkeneh - Arc en Ciel – Ana Aqra – Foodblessed,
