LEARNING SUPPORT AT IC

At IC, we are deeply committed to nurturing the potential of every student, and our robust Learning Support program plays a central role in ensuring that all learners can thrive. We recognize that students have diverse learning profiles, and our Learning Support Teachers (LST) are instrumental in helping them develop the skills they need to access and succeed within the mainstream curriculum.

These specialists work closely with classroom teachers to ensure that lessons, instructions, and learning materials are not only accessible but also engaging for all students. Beyond direct student support, the department collaborates with faculty to differentiate teaching approaches and adapt assignments, projects, and assessments to suit each learner’s unique needs. Our approach is inclusive, proactive, and grounded in the belief that every student deserves the tools, strategies, and encouragement to become a confident, independent, and successful learner.

At the high school, we extend this commitment by providing students with tailored accommodations in line with the requirements of the Lebanese Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, and International Baccalaureate official exams. We also assist students in obtaining the necessary accommodations for the SAT and university admissions, ensuring that they are set up for success beyond their school years.

At IC, Learning Support is not a separate pathway; it is an integral part of our educational mission to foster growth, equity, and excellence for all.

 

Identification and Referral Process

Students may be referred by teachers, parents, or counselors. Our team conducts observations, screenings, and collaborates with all stakeholders to develop appropriate support plans.

 

Collaboration with Teachers and Families

Regular meetings and open communication with families ensure that learning strategies at school are reinforced at home, creating consistency and confidence for each child.
