Partnership for Excellence Campaign

The Partnership for Excellence Campaign is one of the most important and pioneering initiatives in the school’s history.  That is truly saying something, especially considering our history dates all the way back to 1891!

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our Campaign donors (parents, alumni, trustees and friends of IC) to date, IC has constructed the new Ras Beirut Elementary school, including the Shair and Jaroudi buildings.  Incorporated within are state-of-the-art classrooms, with increased space for students and teachers, IC’s first ‘makerspace’ unit and revolutionary music rooms and art labs.  Also included is a 420-seater auditorium (Irani), two large gymnasiums, which often play host to interscholastic athletics competitions and a quality tennis court.  These buildings are the first in Lebanon to receive the prestigious US Green Building Council’s LEED Certification.  Not only that, these buildings put IC on a pedestal as IC was also the first educational institution in the whole Middle-East region to achieve the LEED Gold certification standard.  Indeed, this goes hand in hand with our commitment to environmental practices and sustainability in general, in line with our IC Responsibility program and commitment to the UN Global Compact and Sustainable Development 2030 Goals.  This $30 million project, we are pleased to report, was completed on time and on budget.

We are currently expecting the delivery of the two latest buildings in the long line of LEED Gold certified buildings we have commissioned, these being the new Preschool and Middle School buildings on the Ras Beirut campus.  It is a very exciting time as we see the finishing touches being put and with the IC community moving in very soon.  Watch this space!

In Ain Aar, the construction of a new playing field, the Anwar Al Mulla football field, has significantly expanded opportunities for sports, recreation and physical education.  2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the Ain Aar campus and the next phase of development there is well and truly in the pipeline, with a gymnasium, auditorium and parking facility all due for the ground-breaking ceremony soon.  Again, watch this space!

In total, and to support the 20-year construction masterplan development across both campuses, the Partnership for Excellence Campaign aims to reach $110 million in total funds raised.
