International College (IC) in Lebanon is one of the largest international schools in the world. With over 3,600 students and 600 Faculty and Staff, the school has evolved throughout its long and rich history, dating back to 1891 in South-West Turkey, to an excellent institution, and one in a truly unique setting in the Middle-East region and globally. The highest standards of academic and extra-curricular educational opportunities are consistently adhered to, in line with international accreditations, such as with the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) as well as being an authorised school with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) and International Baccalaureate (IB). Chartered in the State of Massachusetts, US, and abiding by the laws of the Lebanese government, IC remains a not-for-profit organization, and one that is proudly independent and non-sectarian.
The school’s uniqueness continues in the programs on offer, with four Secondary School tracks available: The IB; French Baccalaureate; Lebanese Baccalaureate and College Preparatory Program. IC’s main campus (33,000 sqm) since 1936 when it moved to Beirut, is situated next to the American University of Beirut, in between the Mediterranean Sea and historic Hamra, nestled into the leafy and vibrant community of Ras Beirut. In 1988 IC established a second campus (15,000 sqm) away from the coast in the town of Ain Aar in the Metn region, some 20 kilometers northwards from the Lebanese capital.
Faculty and Staff enjoy a friendly and welcoming environment on both IC campuses. Lebanon and the Lebanese are famed for their hospitality, and this is equally evident within the school community too. In addition to a competitive salary and benefits package, IC offers a rich academic environment that is committed to employee development and where you become part of inspiring excellence and innovation for the future. Indeed, the last academic year (2017-18) saw over 440 professional development days administered across Faculty and Staff. Just two of the school’s pioneering programs in the region at present are our STEAM education and sustainability program committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and in joining IC you could become a part of these or other leading programs. School employees are also invited to participate in the diverse range of activities on offer to the IC community, including anything from volleyball to yoga, and from basketball to archery.
