A PHONE-FREE IC
FROM POTENTIAL TO PERFORMANCE
At IC, we believe that creating the right conditions for students to thrive is an essential part of helping them move from Potential to Performance.
A phone-free school is not about taking technology away. It is about making intentional space for the things that matter most, learning, relationships, wellbeing, curiosity, participation and growth.
Together, we are creating an IC where students can be more focused, more present and more connected.
Focus deeply
Be more attentive and engaged in learning, with fewer digital distractions competing for their attention.
Connect meaningfully
Spend more time talking, collaborating and building relationships with peers and teachers face-to-face.
Be fully present
Experience school life without the constant pull of notifications, messages and social media.
Support wellbeing
Create a school environment that prioritizes healthy relationships, belonging, participation and emotional wellbeing.
Making space for what matters
School is about much more than what happens in the classroom.
It is the conversation between lessons.
The game on the field.
The lunch table.
The spontaneous idea shared with a friend.
The teacher who notices when a student needs support.
The opportunity to try something new.
A phone-free environment creates more room for these everyday moments, the experiences that help students grow academically, socially and personally.
Strengthen independence
Develop the ability to manage attention, make responsible choices and engage confidently without relying on a personal device.
Our move to a phone-free school is part of a broader commitment to creating a positive environment in which students can thrive.
For our youngest students, this means a completely phone-free environment. For Middle and High School students, IC is partnering with Yondr, whose Phone-Free Schools Programme is designed to help schools create healthier, more engaging learning environments.
