Student Voices in Action: Program Student Leaders Elections

For one full week, campus energy was at its peak as students took center stage in the Program Student Leaders Elections, a vibrant chapter of campaigning, conversations, and community engagement that truly brought student voice to life. This student-led democratic experience is coordinated and guided by our Activities Director, Mr. Riad Chirazi, whose leadership helps channel student enthusiasm into meaningful, structured engagement.

This year’s elections were crowned with the announcement of four Program Student Leaders, proudly chosen by their peers:
Lebanese Baccalaureate Program: Mustafa Moukahal
French Baccalaureate Program: Jad Doughan
International Baccalaureate Diploma Program: Yara Ibrahim
American Program: Michael Nercessian
Each of these students will represent their respective program, serving as a bridge between students, faculty, and school leadership.

This activity provided a meaningful platform for candidates to present their vision and connect with their peers. It was more than an election; it was an exercise in leadership, dialogue, and democracy on campus.

Campaign celebrations took place exclusively during break times, ensuring that academic learning remained uninterrupted. Music played, students danced and sang, and campus came alive with color as each candidate chose a campaign color that turned the courtyard into a vibrant scene. What was truly remarkable, however, was how our students embodied above all the IC spirit. They may have been competing against one another, their names side by side on the same voting paper, but they remained united, supporting and cheering for each other, not only on the dance floor, but across campus.

Throughout the week, candidates delivered their official speeches to the Class of 2026, presenting their ideas, values, and goals.
They also visited the classrooms of Grades 10 and 11, sharing brief speeches about their programs, proposed initiatives, and what student leadership means to them.
Students across all programs were invited to reflect on who best represents them and who most strongly embodies our EPIC values.

With Mustafa, Jad, Yara and Michael stepping into their roles as Program Student Leaders, our community looks forward to the projects, initiatives, and collaborations they will bring to life. They carry the trust of their peers and the responsibility of representing their programs with excellence, integrity, and care.

The Program Student Leaders Elections have once again shown what happens when students are empowered to lead, they rise to the occasion, thoughtfully, passionately, and together.
