EARLY CHILDHOOD

At IC, our Early Childhood Centers on both the Ain Aar and Ras Beirut campuses provide a caring, vibrant, and inspiring start to our students’ educational journey. Grounded in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), our approach nurtures young learners’ natural curiosity and fosters their social, emotional, and cognitive development through purposeful play and inquiry-based learning. From their very first days at IC, children are encouraged to ask questions, think creatively, and build confidence as they explore concepts and ideas in meaningful ways. Guided by experienced and passionate educators, our Early Childhood Centers create a welcoming environment where each child feels safe, valued, and empowered to grow into an independent and caring learner, ready to embrace the world ahead.

Daily Life and Routines

Each day at IC’s Early Childhood is filled with purposeful learning and meaningful moments. Children start their mornings with warm greetings and circle time, followed by engaging activities in literacy, numeracy, and inquiry-based centers. Their day also includes outdoor play, specialist classes in music, library, and PE, as well as nutritious snacks and lunch, creating a balanced rhythm that supports their holistic development.

Learning Through Play

Play is at the heart of our Early Childhood philosophy. Through play-based learning, children build critical thinking, language, social, and motor skills in a natural and joyful way. Our teachers design intentional experiences that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration, laying the foundations for lifelong learning.

Facilities and Environment

Our Early Childhood classrooms are warm, inviting, and purposefully designed for young learners. Bright spaces filled with resources encourage creativity and discovery, while outdoor playgrounds, sensory areas, and safe gardens provide opportunities for movement, exploration, and connection with nature.

Curriculum Overview

As part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), our Early Childhood curriculum fosters inquiry-based learning and holistic development. Children engage in transdisciplinary units that integrate languages, math, science, arts, and personal and social education, helping them build understanding of themselves and their world.

Family Partnership

At IC, we believe that families are our partners in every child’s learning journey. We maintain strong communication through newsletters, platforms, and meetings, and celebrate learning together in class events, special performances, and community gatherings, fostering a warm and collaborative school culture.

Key Programs and Activities

Beyond the core curriculum, children enjoy a rich array of experiences, including music, PE, library visits, and language exposure in English, French, and Arabic. Outdoor learning and sensory play are integrated daily, supporting their physical development, creativity, and wellbeing.

IC's Early Childhood program offers a nurturing and internationally recognized learning experience that builds confident, caring and capable young learners. With experienced educators, a play-based IB framework, a bilingual environment, and strong values-based education, your child will thrive and grow with joy and purpose.
