“Water is a free medicine … Water is life and there can be no life without water… Water is more precious than gold”; these are some of the conclusions that students of CE2 “A” at Ain Aar reached in their inquiry into the concepts of “responsibility” and “conservation” in “Sharing the planet ". They discovered how essential water is to human life and found out that it is a rare and limited natural resource that everyone needs to conserve and protect from pollution.
When came the time to share what they learned with their parents, the students decided it would be more effective to reflect on the ideas and experiences they acquired through role-play. They staged mini-sketches in which they stopped people from wasting and polluting water. By using different mediums, the learners hoped to raise awareness about the need to conserve and protect this precious resource.
