The European Union, on Monday, announced that it granted International College $750,000 towards the newly constructed LEED Gold certified Elementary School buildings in Ras Beirut. An International College delegation made up of Board members, Mr. Imad Taher, former minister Mr. Walid Daouk and IC president, Don Bergman, visited the offices of Mr. Riad Salameh, the governor of the Lebanon’s Central Bank to receive the check. Also present during the visit was Mr. Wael Hamdan, the Executive Director and Head of the Financing Unit whose support was instrumental in securing the EU grant. The IC delegation extended an invitation to Mr. Salameh to visit the campus and the Elementary School buildings.
The environmentally friendly Elementary School buildings included an energy saving design, motion sensors, and a computerized air quality control management system. International College is proud to have constructed Lebanon’s first LEED Gold Certified building in Lebanon.
