The Dining Hall

Your Task

*  Search for information about what a typical Great Hall looked like and how it was arranged for a typical Middle Ages feast.

*  Draw a floor plan of the room.  Then draw a diagram of how the dishes would be placed on a table for the diners/guests.

*  Search for information about what a typical modern formal public dining room looks like and how it is arranged for a formal dinner. Draw a floor plan of the room and a diagram of how the dishes would be placed on the table for the diners.

*  Compare the practices of the Middle Ages to modern day times and hypothesize reasons for the differences and similarities.
