Fight Acid Rain

One of the objectives of the Planner, “Sharing The Planet,” is to heighten the students’ understanding of the delicate balance within all ecosystems and the environmental threats that exist to disrupt that balance.

Acid rain is caused by air pollution. When clean rain water falls through air that is polluted, the resulting rainwater becomes polluted and, thus, very acidic. This experiment showed 4th graders what that meant. They simulated acid rain to see how it can affect our buildings and plants.
