Representation

“I discern a common thread that unites us: Our devotion to the institution that has had a profound impact upon our growth and development. As an IC graduate of 1964, I know that every one of you shared the same exhilarating and enlightening experience in his days at IC. Fortunately, the tradition of excellence that we have all known at IC continues, and I marvel at the work of so many who are committed to keeping this institution great.” - Moufid Beydoun, Vice President Alumni and Development. |
Alumni and Development Office: Reaching out to our alumni through snail-mail and e-mail, fund-raising events, get-together functions, and visits to destinations around the world. We also boast an extensive selection of documents chronicling IC’s history; our archives are brimming with over 12,000 alumni records as well as all the issues of Torch yearbook, dating back to 1952, when the first one was published.
Communication

“It is important for all of us to realize that we are part of a community,
part of this school, and our alumni should know that, while they may have left
IC physically, they are still, and will always be, connected.”- Dr. Arthur
Charles, quoted from IC Newsletter winter 2001. “We are all aware that the word communication means to convey information, that is, to share common information or ideas. For successful communication to take place, there must be a sender and a receiver who share a message... that is why a message should be communicated in as many ways as possible, and here at the Alumni Office we do so with great precision and care.”- Moufid Beydoun, Vice President Alumni and Development, quoted from IC Newsletter winter 2004. |
Support

“If
there is a single wish I could share with IC students and faculty of the current
generation, it is that I sincerely hope that you all are experiencing the rich
experience that we ourselves once had, and that you are contributing to ensure
that the school’s spirit remains intact though your enthusiasm, sharing, and
avid thirst for learning.”-Dr. Fawaz Zu’bi ’75, quoted from IC
Newsletter winter 2004 issue. “I hope you readers and students realize the value of IC and keep supporting it at all times, as it is simply one of the best institutions in Lebanon and the whole Middle East.”- Suheil J. Muasher ’68, quoted from IC Newsletter summer 2002 issue. |

Giving: International College is blessed with a host of generous donations of various kinds from Parents, Alumni, Trustees, Foundations, Corporations, and Friends, without which we would be incapable of providing the new generation with a first-rate education, and maintaining the diversity of people and programs for which we are known.
Contributions to Annual Fund: Financial donations that help to “bridge the gap” by funding developments that tuition fees do not cover. These contributions directly benefit the operating budget by fully subsidizing the financial aid program, as well as assisting faculty development programs and students’ facilities. Gifts to the Annual Fund constituted 2% of the income sources of IC in the academic year 2003-2004.
Endowment Gifts: Permanent source of financial income, as only the interest generated from the deposited sum is spent, whereas the actual sum contributed remains. These gifts are directed toward any number of our expenses, depending on the contributor’s request or the school’s needs, including financial aid, faculty and staff development, and student facilities. Endowment gifts constituted 5% of the income sources of IC in the academic year 2003-2004.
Movable Property Gifts: Non-Cash contributions. These are donations of materials or assets that serve the purpose of the institution. In the Academic year of 2003-2004 Gillette offered IC’s basket ball court an electronic scoring board.
