Message from the President

   Welcome to the website for International College. We begin the school year with a great deal of enthusiasm and optimism for the future. At IC, we feel that the future of Lebanon will soon be in the hands of our graduates. We have a wonderful student body and good reason for our optimism!

   International College has a long and illustrious history as one of the finest educational institutions in the world. Founded in 1891 in Smyrna, Turkey, IC moved to Beirut in 1936 at the invitation of the American University of Beirut. IC shares its main campus in Ras Beirut with the American University of Beirut. In addition, the Ain Aar campus, north of the city, is home to 800 students in grades pre-K through middle school.

   International College offers challenging academic programs at all levels. Students learn English, French and Arabic, and most graduates are trilingual. At the secondary level students follow one of four curricular tracks: the Lebanese Baccalaureate, the French Baccalaureate, the College Preparatory Program, or the International Baccalaureate.

   IC’s 3,400 students come from all over Lebanon, as well as from other countries in the Middle East and around the world. We are proud of our non-sectarian admissions policy and significant financial aid assistance. IC is accredited by both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Our graduates, who number in the thousands, occupy significant positions in medicine, banking, engineering, commerce and other professions in the Middle East and around the world.

   Bienvenue au site de l’International College (IC). C’est avec beaucoup d’enthousiasme et d’optimisme dans l’avenir que nous entamons cette année scolaire. Nous sommes convaincus que l’avenir du Liban sera bientôt entre les mains des élèves qui obtiendront le diplôme de fin d’études de l’IC. Ce sont des élèves merveilleux et nous avons de bonnes raisons d’être optimistes!

   L’IC est doté d’une longue et illustre histoire, comme étant une des institutions les plus renommées du monde. L’IC, fondé à Smyrne, en Turquie s’est installé à Beyrouth en 1936 suite à l’invitation que lui a faite l’Université Américaine de Beyrouth. L’IC partage ses sites principaux à Ras Beyrouth avec l’Université Américaine de Beyrouth. En outre, le site de Ain Aar au nord de la capitale, regroupe 800 élèves allant de l’école maternelle au collège.

   L’IC offre des programmes scolaires stimulants à tous les niveaux. Les élèves apprennent l’anglais, le français et l’arabe, et la plupart de nos diplômés sont trilingues. Au secondaire, les élèves suivent un des quatre programmes suivants: le baccalauréat libanais, le baccalauréat français, le programme préparatoire à l’entrée en université et le baccalauréat international.

   Les 3400 élèves de l’IC proviennent de tout le Liban et d’autres pays du Moyen Orient et du monde. Nous sommes fiers du règlement non-confessionnel d’admissions et de notre programme important de bourses scolaires. L’IC est un établissement homologué par le conseil des écoles internationales, l’association de la Nouvelle Angleterre des écoles et universités et l’Agence de l’Enseignement du Français à l’Etranger. Des centaines de nos diplômés occupent des postes importants en médecine, dans la finance, en ingénierie, dans le commerce et dans d’autres professions au Moyen Orient et dans le monde entier.
